About

Hi, I'm Cesar. I connect ideas across fields.

I'm Cesar, a senior UX designer at Lucid Software. In almost five years there, I've worked across growth, integrations, AI and platform teams, most recently designing how reusable data works in Lucid's new AI product.

I started on the visual side of design, and that taught me something I still lean on: when an experience feels effortless, people trust it and value it more. Good-looking and easy-to-use aren't separate goals.

Before Lucid, I worked at an SEO agency, where I was designing for Google's algorithm as much as for people. That turned out to be early training for today. Now I design for AI agents and the people they work for, and I've found that making something clear for an agent usually makes it better for the human too.

What I'm proudest of isn't one skill. It's how things connect. I'm a lifelong learner with a lot of interests, and I'm constantly pulling ideas from one field into another. On teams, that shows up as turning abstract debates into concrete mocks, running research that changes decisions, and building working prototypes with AI when a picture isn't enough.

My manager once summed up feedback from my peers this way: "You are a strategic connector... that becomes more important to the organization and to the teams than delivering a Figma file."

Outside of work, I'm a photographer, and I run Sombra, a small business selling film-inspired presets for Lightroom.

I'm based in Salt Lake City. Say hi at hello@cesarm.io.
